About this blog
The Emperor’s Footnotes is a reflective companion to my MA thesis in English Literature. It’s where personal voice meets academic inquiry, blending reading notes, research thoughts, and the occasional theory-based reflection.
Some of what I write here connects directly to the texts I’m studying. Other posts come from questions, detours, or shifts in thinking that shaped the work but didn’t belong in formal chapters or footnotes. It’s part reflection, part record-keeping - a way to follow how my ideas develop over time. This isn’t the thesis itself, but it’s close to it. It offers a view into how the thinking is taking shape.
If you’re a fellow researcher, a curious reader, someone deep in your own project, or just interested in how I think through critical questions, you’re welcome here. There are no final answers; just thinking in motion and a steady effort to stay honest about the process.
Thanks for reading.
